CSAM focuses exclusively on developing clinical software solutions for healthcare, and today delivering interoperability solutions enabling secure and complete information sharing between existing legacy systems and modules for specialized services; patient administration systems, maternity and oncology solutions.
The CSAM Plexus clinical portal and integration engine was conceived in 2001 when a single vendor strategy could not deliver the level of functionality needed by clinicians, due to the high level of specialization at The Rikshospitalet University Hospital.
Rikshospitalet merged with Radiumhospitalet and subsequently with Ulleval to form Oslo University Hospital, a highly specialized university hospital. Oslo University Hospital is at the forefront of innovation in Norway’s health care system.
One of Europe’s most complex and innovative health care institutions, Rikshospitalet- Radiumhosptalet hospital, based their clinical system on the Plexus information platform. The portal based approach supported their best-of-breed strategy and enabled the merged hospitals to roll out a common platform to all its users as the hospitals merged.
Rikshospitalet – Radiumhospitalet formed CSAM Health in 2005 to secure a commercial platform for their innovations and primary clinical workflow solutions.
CSAM is now a privately owned international healthcare software company offering products that give healthcare providers access to relevant clinical information at the point of care. By linking the various hospital systems, CSAM® Plexus™ enables users to access the full medical history of a patient irrespective of geography. Combined with state of the art specialized clinical applications CSAM can offer multiple solutions for differing needs.
In 2008 CSAM acquired Clinsoft, a leading provider of maternity and oncology systems. In that same year the PasDoc solution was purchased from one of Northern Europe’s largest hospitals, Ullevål University hospital. In common with Plexus, all these applications were developed within the clinical setting of large hospitals.
Health care providers are facing their greatest challenge with budget restrictions and ever increasing demands on service provision. To meet these enormous challenges will require a transformation in the way healthcare is delivered.
CSAM supports an evolutionary approach to healthcare transformation by facilitating interaction and cooperation between healthcare professionals through the reuse of information within and between hospitals and healthcare professionals. Through a portal strategy, healthcare providers will be able to add value to their asset base of legacy systems, unlock the information held within and support cost effective change through interoperability and collaborative solutions.
